Add EchoMom Shortcuts to Your Android Home Screen
Put up to six carefully chosen care buttons on your Android home screen so you can log without finding or opening EchoMom first.

Choose the child the widget will log for
The widget always acts for one selected child. Set that first, especially if you care for siblings, so a one-tap log does not quietly go to the wrong Calendar.
- Open Settings from the bottom navigation in EchoMom.
- Choose App.
- Under Home-screen widget child, select the child this phone's widget should log for.
Build the six-button shortcut set
In Settings > App, find Widget quick-log buttons and tap Customize buttons. Start with a preset or choose the supported actions that would genuinely save you effort. Sleep and Wake are often the most valuable pair because complete times make the shared record and Sleep time guidance more useful.
- Add or remove actions under On your widget; the limit is six.
- Drag the buttons into the order your thumb expects.
- Expand each button to review Button label and any event defaults.
- Use a short label and only prefill details that are true most of the time.
Add EchoMom Shortcuts to the home screen
Once the child and buttons are ready, add the native Android widget. Put it somewhere you can reach with one hand without moving another important app or control.
- Long-press an empty area on the Android home screen.
- Choose Widgets and find EchoMom Shortcuts.
- Place the widget, then check that the selected child and buttons are the ones you intended.
Know what a tap will do
Supported widget actions record immediately without opening EchoMom. That is the point at 3 a.m., but it also means an accidental tap or wrong default becomes a real event. Review the entry in Calendar if anything feels wrong. Nursing controls can change while a session is active so you can see the timer, switch sides, or stop.
What to remember
- The Android widget is called EchoMom Shortcuts.
- Widget buttons can have custom labels and defaults; in-app Quick Actions cannot be renamed.
- A widget tap logs directly and does not open the app, so check every default before relying on it.
