Use EchoMom While Other Android Apps Are Open
Turn on the Android setting that lets EchoMom show a small floating button, so you can start a voice log without first finding the app.
Quick reference
- Platform: Android only
- Setting name: display over other apps
- Fallback: EchoMom Shortcuts home-screen widget
1 Step 1
Open the Android chat head setting
EchoMom's chat head is an Android-only floating button. It is useful when you are in another app, holding the baby, or moving through a feed and want to log something by voice quickly.
- 1 Open EchoMom on an Android device.
- 2 Go to account, devices, and settings.
- 3 Find Chat heads everywhere and turn it on.
On iPhone, use EchoMom widgets and the nursing Lock Screen timer instead.
2 Step 2
Allow EchoMom to appear on top
Android asks for permission before any app can show a floating button above other apps. EchoMom opens the right Android settings screen when that permission is missing.
- 1 Tap the permission message from EchoMom.
- 2 In Android settings, allow EchoMom to display over other apps.
- 3 Return to EchoMom and confirm the setting shows as granted.
The Android label varies by device. You may see Appear on top, Display over other apps, or Appear over everything.
3 Step 3
Use the button for voice logging
When enabled, the floating button opens EchoMom and starts listening. That makes it useful for quick feed logs, notes, or care questions while another app is on screen.
- 1 Tap the floating EchoMom bubble.
- 2 Say what you want EchoMom to log or answer.
- 3 Review the result in EchoMom when it asks for confirmation.
