Product, care, and family perspective

If EchoMom is open, use Quick log

Quick log appears on Home and Calendar and is the simplest place to record common care while you are already in the app. The buttons have fixed names such as Sleep, Wake, Nursing, Bottle, and Diaper. You can choose and reorder the visible set, but you cannot rename them.

  1. Tap a Quick Action for a common event.
  2. Use More when the action is not in your main row.
  3. Open Calendar when you need to review or correct what was recorded.

If the app is closed, use EchoMom Shortcuts

EchoMom Shortcuts is the home-screen widget on iPhone and Android. Its widget buttons can have custom Button labels and defaults, and supported events log directly without opening EchoMom. This is the surface to prepare for a wake-up you know will happen when you are groggy.

  1. Set Home-screen widget child in Settings > App.
  2. Customize up to six Widget quick-log buttons.
  3. Test the result and verify it in Calendar before relying on it overnight.

If you need to speak or ask, use Ask EchoMom

Ask EchoMom is the agent for a natural update, a question about recent care, or a request that does not fit one button. Open EchoMom from the bottom navigation, add the Ask EchoMom iPhone widget, or use Android's optional Floating voice button when you want access over other apps.

  1. Say the child's name and what happened, including an approximate time if it was not now.
  2. Ask a focused question such as how long the child has been awake.
  3. Review Calendar when the exact recorded detail matters.

If nursing is active, use the live timer surface

An active nursing session has its own controls because the problem is keeping track of elapsed time and side, not starting another generic log. Android offers Nursing popout and an ongoing notification. Supported iPhones can show a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

What to remember

  • Quick log is best when EchoMom is already open; its Quick Action names are fixed.
  • EchoMom Shortcuts is the customizable iPhone or Android widget for direct one-tap logs.
  • Ask EchoMom handles natural-language updates and questions; active nursing has separate glanceable controls.

When typing is too much

Ask EchoMom about the next care moment.

Say what happened, ask about recent care, or get help finding the right next step without digging through screens.
