Keep the Nursing Timer Visible on Android

Use Nursing popout so a night feed's timer and side controls stay reachable after you leave EchoMom, with an ongoing notification as backup.

Allow Nursing popout once

Android uses the same display-over-other-apps permission for the Floating voice button and Nursing popout. You can allow the timer popout without making the Floating voice button part of your routine.

  1. Open Settings and choose App.
  2. Find Nursing popout.
  3. Tap Allow popout if EchoMom says permission is needed.
  4. In Android settings, allow EchoMom to display over other apps.

Start nursing from Quick log

On Home or Calendar, tap Nursing in Quick log and choose the starting side. The Nursing timer screen and in-app mini timer use that same live session.

  1. Tap Nursing.
  2. Choose Left or Right in the side picker.
  3. Confirm the timer is running before locking the phone or opening another app.

Leave EchoMom without losing your place

When EchoMom goes into the background, the small timer can show the elapsed time and active side. Use its controls to switch sides, stop, or return to EchoMom. The popout hides when you return to the app so it does not cover the controls you are already using.

  1. Press Home or switch apps while nursing is active.
  2. Check elapsed time without trying to remember when the feed began.
  3. Use Switch when the side changes and Stop when the feed ends.

Rely on the notification when the popout is unavailable

If permission is off or Android cannot show the floating card, EchoMom keeps an ongoing notification for the active session. Tap it to return to the timer. The feed continues to be tracked; the popout is only another control surface.

What to remember

  • The setting is Nursing popout under Settings > App.
  • The popout appears only while a nursing timer is active and EchoMom is in the background.
  • Without display-over-other-apps permission, the ongoing Android notification keeps the session reachable.
